So here are some resources that I've found that are helping me on my quest for consistent home organization. I hope you find them useful as well!
- First, if you haven't already subscribed to Cynthia Townley Ewer's blog, please check out OrganizedHome.com! Cynthia is a "genetically" non-organized woman who has taught herself and thousands of others like her to BE ORGANIZED. The website features Cynthia's daily blog; several pages devoted to helping you clean house, cut clutter, and get organized; and links to downloadable forms in PDF format to help you manage your household.
- If you're inspired by Cynthia's Household Notebook, check out these blogs by women who put their own spin on the concept: Kim at Starry Sky Ranch has several blog posts on her Home Management Journal Project complete with Microsoft Word documents to download; Kim's friend Elizabeth at In the Heart of My Home has commented on her Family Home Companion, also with some downloads; and Wardeh of Such Treasures has equally good information and resources on her Household Notebook.
- Flylady has a wealth of knowledge at her website, including the cure for CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome). Check it out for some smiles, encouragement, and excellent tips!
- Another helpful website is 123Sortit.com, which has tips on both residential and business organization. The site's host is "a personal and professional coach/consultant who has a passion for organization." Julie will humorously and gently guide you through the steps to organizing your home and business.
- Looking for a blog to help you unclutter? Unclutterer is the place for you. With informative posts on keeping baby organized to inspiring you with doable weekend organization projects, Unclutterer can help even the hard-core packrat.
- Finally, About.com's Interior Decorating page has a section on organizing your home--with links to helpful video clips for the visual learners among us.
Please let me know if you have used any other resources--online or "old school"--that have helped you with organization.
Until next post, happy organizing! bjh
